Biobased textiles and bacterial cellulose

This area of my research explores the potential of bio-based and biologically derived materials within textile systems, with a particular focus on bacterial cellulose. My work investigates how these materials can be grown, processed, and evaluated for use in sustainable textile applications, considering both material performance and environmental impact.

Through laboratory research and applied experimentation, I examine the properties, limitations, and opportunities of bacterial cellulose and related bio-materials, contributing to wider conversations around circularity, low-impact production, and the future of sustainable textile materials.
